When getting around Amsterdam there is really no need to get into a car of any sort. In fact, taking a car or taxi around Amsterdam is quite a hassle. Please join us to make use of the various exquisite modes of transportation Amsterdam has to offer.
Our personal favourite and by far the fastest and most affordable way to get around the city is by bike. Facilities for biking are excellent, and summer weather makes biking very pleasant. It can be a good idea to first check out the local rules of the road. The ECPG and local organizers cannot be held responsible for any injuries. There are many places to rent bikes in Amsterdam around campus and close to Amsterdam Central Station. The University of Amsterdam has ample space to stall your bike.
Trams 1, 4, 7, and 19 stop directly next to the Roeterseiland Campus. Get out at the stops ‘s Gravesandeplein or Weesperplein.
You can take metro 51 (direction: Amstelveen), 53 (direction: Gaasperplas) or 54 (direction: Gein) and get out at stop “Weesperplein”. From the station you will see signs with “UvA” (Universiteit van Amsterdam).
From Amsterdam/Schiphol Airport there are trains to Amsterdam Central Station every 10 to 15 minutes. The approximate journey time is 13 min.
